The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other options, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.
It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping purposes you must be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This results in an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which has an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few lovely jingles to let you know when it was about to start or finished its work.
Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning job or recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like robot vacuum cleaners vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.
Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.
